Actually the differences between the two drugs appear rather modest except in cost. The cash price of Eliquis is about $15 a day which translates to more than $5000 a year compared to a paltry $48 a year for warfarin. Additionally bleeding associated with warfarin can be rapidly reversed with vitamin K; bleeding from Eliquis has no antidote.
