The video explains how the agriculture sectors are the most vulnerable to climate change and climate variability. This poses a multitude of challenges that must be overcome in the medium and long-term to ensure the lives, livelihoods as well as food security and nutrition of millions of people around the world. The need to adapt to changing climatic conditions is pressing for the poor - particularly women- who depend directly on agriculture for their livelihoods. The National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process can catalyse implementation and financing for these agriculture-related adaptation priorities and working towards meeting the goals laid out in the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It also highlights the ongoing work of FAO and UNDP’s “Integrating Agriculture in National Adaptation Plans (NAP-Ag)” Programme.
