NOBLE VIRTUES
(Narsiha Gatha)

These verses were uttered by Princess Yasodhara to her son, Rahula, on the occasion of the Buddha’s visit to Kapilavatthu after his Enlightenment.
As the entire group of monks starts walking towards them, The son has never seen his father, the enlightened one and is unaware of the spiritual glory. Rahula enquires to his mother, O mother, "I see so many monks full of meditative radiance coming towards us, How do I know, who amongst them is my father?
Then Princess Yasodhara explained some of the physical characteristics and noble virtues of the Blessed One.
