Presenting the Philips Toptwin Twintub Washing Machine from 1974, owner Mathew Thomas has renovated the motors and washtimer and fitted a heater relay, it runs as smooth as when new.

Toptwin Controls:
The "Silent Friend" controls are grouped on an attractive console which composes a wash chart & instructions detailing fabric type, wash times, water temperature and spin.times. Controls L - R are Master Switch, this turns on the main wash motor & pump which runs constantly. Wash Timer up to 12 minutes, Pump Outlet Control selects emptying the washtub or spin dryer.
Wash Action:
The Philips Toptwin uses a 4 vane black phenolic gyrator moving @ 120 oscillations per minute, for a thorough wash without tangling. The wash water is constantly filtered by a filter underneath the gyrator, water is moved through the filter and lint is collected. Underneath the washtub is a precision built gearbox with an oil bath, typical of Philips workmanship
Spin Dryer:
Spinning at 3,000rpm the Toptwin spins faster, extracts more water and dries quicker. The aluminum spin can is pear shaped and balances on a ball point for smoother spinning even with unbalanced loads. Featuring "Riverflow" continuous rinsing with either hot or cold water, you decide, as the fresh water runs in the soapy water runs out continuously. Most clothes are "Iron Ready" they are that dry.
Water Discharge:
The Philips Toptwin has a new rubber covered Telescopic Water Discharge arm, you can spin sudsy water back into the wash tub as a suds saver and the lifting up the arm enables you to swin the arm over your sink and with a simple twist action extend it into the sink to avoid splashing.
