Welcome back to Renovating in Tuscany! Join us in the heart of our home for Part 2 of our Mid Century Inspired Kitchen Install. We've transformed a large, unused space—65 sq meters or 700 square ft—into an open-plan Kitchen and Living space. Giacomo's carpenters have brought this vision to life, assembling kitchen cabinets from individual panels of wood into a cohesive masterpiece.
Simultaneously, Bruno, our trusted electrician, has installed light switches and integrated kitchen cabinet lighting, creating a warm and inviting ambiance in our space. A true highlight is our hidden coffee bar, with antique glass, Taj Mahal quartzite countertops, and a thoughtful layout, seamlessly combining functionality with beauty.
Amidst the chaos of Rooney's surgery and the kitchen install, we cherished moments with Andrea’s mom during her visit, opting for delightful meals at our favorite spots instead of a planned Christmas feast in our new kitchen.
Returning to the kitchen, we carefully placed the hand-made brass cabinet handles. The bespoke brass oven hood, complementing our Lacanche oven, adds elegance with rounded edges and crowning features.
Choosing the right countertop material was a journey, and Taj Mahal quartzite emerged as the perfect natural stone, seamlessly blending with the villa's aesthetics. Witness the installation—an awe-inspiring moment where the tones harmonize flawlessly.
The grand finale is the much-awaited arrival of the Lacanche oven from Burgundy, France, marking a Merry Christmas for us despite delivery drama. With the New Year, Giacomo returns for final touches, and we step into 2024 with a fully functional kitchen.
