Five years ago, we invested our entire life savings in a 500-year-old abandoned estate located two hours north of London. We soon discovered why no one else had even made an offer — the crumbling cottages, stables, outbuildings, gardens and grand 20-room Manor House were all hidden under a blanket of overgrown ivy, shrubs and trees. To add to the challenge, we recently acquired another crumbling 20-room Georgian Manor House that was once part of the original estate. We do nearly all the work ourselves and – although the journey is far from over – enjoy the remarkable before-and-after reveals and transformations that five years makes!
