In this video, I am cooking Karaage, Japanese style fried chicken. This is a typical food in Izakaya (Japanese bar/tavern) but also for Bento-box. This goes perfectly with beer, so please try it out!
In my channel, I show authentic but alternative Japanese home cooking, which can be make with the ingredients available outside of Japan.
Ingredients for Karaage
Chicken (preferably thigh or wings) 300-400 g (12-16 oz)
Marinate sauce:
- Garlic 2-3 cloves
- Ginger a small piece
- Soy sauce 3-5 Tbsp
- Sugar 1-2 Tbsp
- Sake 1 Tbsp
- Starch (for batter) 3-5 Tbsp
