APBA football solitaire: All-Star Steelers vs. Giants: How I call plays, substitute players (Pt. 1)

Here's another blast from our past: A 2014 tilt to christen Heinz Field (custom field a gift from Hall of Famer Greg Barath). Pulled out the Original Franchise All-Stars (OFAS) sets of the Steelers and Giants. I talk about a range of subjects, from optimal kicking numbers in the current "master" charts to player substitution and my solitaire method.

OFAS sets feature the top all-time players of each NFL franchise up to the 1982 season, released in 1983 along with the new "master game" charts. You'll recognize some names that weren't in the original set, like Simms, Barber and Toomer, because my goal was to update the OFAS sets with all the contemporary greats from 1983-2014. I'll be picking that project up to flesh out all 32 teams, including teams that don't have OFAS sets (e.g., Bucs, Seahawks).

• Rookie Terry Bradshaw
• The Monday Night Football crew
