Malswick Aug 2023. We have 350metres of new canal. But why stop here, and what are we doing now?

This late spring / early summer we have redug 350 metres of the canal cut to its finished profile, and partially filled it with water. But our planning consent is for 600 metres of canal. So why have we stopped where we have? And if we are not currently digging more canal, what are we doing?
