It’s Tuesday, and that means #TechTipTuesday!
For this week's edition we are talking about the tools and parts you need when rebuilding and servicing shocks!

⚠️Key Points:

🔴 Make sure you have rebuild seal kits on hand before tearing into your shocks. It is good practice to replace worn seals. We have tables on our website that can help you order the correct kit for your shocks. Also, shock oil and shims are manufacturer specific so be sure to know what you need.

🔴 Shocks can take a beating so it is important to inspect them for wear. Typical things to look for are worn/scraped eyelets, blown out com bearings, rusted or bent shafts, and cut or kinked reservoir hoses. All of these can lead to premature failure of your shocks and should be addressed while servicing. Fortunately we keep most common wear items for King, Fox, and Icon on the shelf so they are ready to ship ASAP!

🔴 Having the right tools can make working on shocks that much quicker/easier. AGM makes great specialty vice clamps to hold either your shock eyelet or shock shaft securely in place. We also make a more budget friendly solution for clamping ⅝” and ⅞” shafts. Also, don’t forget to recharge your shocks with nitrogen once they are back together! Checkout our portable nitrogen kits to make this final step a breeze.
