Learning how to make traditional Palestinian dishes to celebrate our culture and pass down to my future children is so important to me. Let me know what we should make next!

Musakhan ingredients:
Chicken
Red or yellow onions
Taboon or naan bread
Olive oil
Allspice or 7 spice
Sumac
Salt
Pepper
Lemon

1. Wash and clean the chicken and set aside.
2. Dice red onions and set aside.
3. In a large pan, season chicken with all spice, sumac black pepper, salt, and olive oil. Chop one yellow onion into medium size pieces and add to pan for flavor. Fill the pan with 1 cup of water, cover the pan and bake for 1 hour or until chicken is done.
4. While chicken is cooking, add red onions to a large pot and cook for 15-20 minutes.
5. When the onions start to "sweat", add salt, 4-5 cups of olive oil, sumac, and the juice of 1 lemon (optional). Measure with your heart lol.
6. When onions are done, strain into a pan. You can also combine this oil with a bit of the juice from the chicken to dip your bread in.
7. Take your bread once piece at a time and pour or dip it into the soup. Cover the bread with onions like a pizza. Add almonds and pine nuts or your nut of choice (optional).
8. Broil the bread one piece at a time until crispy.
9. Layer the baboon bread on top of each other and add chicken to the top layer.
10. Cut your taboos bread into 4 pieces so it's easy to make sandwiches with your chicken. Serve and enjoy!
