Nadan Chicken Biriyani / Easter Special / Kerala Style
Ingredients:
For marinade :
Chicken  - 1 kg
Chilli powder  - 2 tsp
Chicken masala  - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala  - 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder  - 1 tsp
Chicken cube  - 1
Lime juice  - a lemon  ( medium size  )
Salt - 1 tsp
Oil ( for frying chicken  )
For grinding:
Cashew nut  - 40g  (15 to 20 nos )
Kaskas ( white poppy seeds  ) - 3/4 tsp
Water
For crushing:
Garlic - 50 g ( 25 nos )
Ginger - 40g
Green chilli  - 6 to 8
For Biriyani masala :
Fennel seeds  - 1 tsp
Shajeera - 1/2 tsp
Cloves - 5
Cinnamon  - 3 piece  ( small  )
Black pepper  - 1/2 tsp
Cardamom  - 4
Javitri - 1/2 piece
Star anise  - 1/2 piece

Onion - 2 ( for frying )
Cashew nut
Raisins
For chicken masala :
Oil
Onion - 400g
Tomato - 2 ( big )
Coriander leaves - a handful
Mint leaves - a handful
Salt
Turmeric powder  - 1 tsp
Chilli powder  - 2 tsp
Chicken masala  - 1 tsp
Biriyani masala
Crushed ginger, garlic and green chilli
Fried onion - half portion
Curd - 150 ml
Cashewnut paste
Hot water - 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup
For preparation of Rice :
Basmati rice - 1 kg
Water - 1 1/2 ltr
Cardam9m - 8
Cinnamon - 4 piece ( small )
Cloves - 6
Star anise - 1
Bay leaf - 1
Oil - 1 tbsp
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Salt
Lime juice - half lemon ( big size )
Chicken cubes - 1
Carrot - 1 ( small )
For layering :
Chicken gravy
Coriander leaves
Mint leaves
Fried onion
Fried cashew nuts and raisins
Pineapple essence - 2 drops
Rose essence - 2 drops
Water  - 1 tbsp
Oil - 1 tbsp ( oil used  for frying chicken  )
Ghee - 1 tbsp
