This is how I maintain my gas hot water tank to make it last longer. Easy DIY for flushing the water from PRV and Drain Spigot.
Reason:
Because of a large amount of water that passes through them, hot water heaters accumulate sediment, minerals, and other small pieces of debris that can affect their performance and shorten their lifespans. The best way to keep your hot water heater operating at its best is to flush and clean it on a regular basis.
Flushing and cleaning your hot water tank is a relatively simple task that can be completed in less than one hour. It’s especially important to flush and clean your hot water tank if you live in an area with hard water, as your water carries more deposits that will settle inside the tank and ultimately reduce its efficiency and lifespan.
