Welcome back to the sweet science in this three part mini series we’re going to look at laying up your defence to make you better at boxing and harder to hit
There’s three types of main defence
Reactive blocks
Proactive movement
And foot movement
In this video we’re looking at proactive defence.
Make them miss, make them pay
How to slip and what counter punches to use.
Dips and counter punches
Rolls and weaves
Ducks for safe entry and exits
And pulls and their counter punches
As always some shadow boxing drills along with some heavy bag drills for you to play with and master as well
As a beginner boxer we tend to focus on just punches
But boxing and certainly good boxer is around 70% defence and only 30% attacking
So make sure your working all of this proactive head movement drills weekly and certainly in your shadow boxing routines if you want to make yourself a better boxer
