The mitochondrial Dna undergoes a different process of replication reffered as ....D- loop replication
Now this kind of replication occur in circular DNA...and we know the Mitochondria posess circular DNA like plasmid....
However, many species have mitochondria which posess linear chromosomes ...so, in those cases, a D-loop replication is not important, bcs they multiply their genome by statndard replication process.
One more thing u have to note, that
not all circular genomes employ D-loop replication as the process of replicating its genome....so they may use standard method or some another type of replication process.
