Principles of Meteorological Instrumentation and Measurements

Meteorological instruments and observing systems are needed because we want to understand the phenomena we are studying for several reasons. We can use observing systems for ground truth, initialization for a computer model, and to understand anything from road weather to space weather and use the information to respond to the impacts of a particular phenomenon.It is important and necessary that we understand the principles behind instrumentation and measurement because it's the basis of understanding science and of getting to the truth.
