Kinabatangan River: Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) basking on the bank.

Found this guy basking in the afternoon sun as we were heading downriver. Crocs, like other reptiles depend on the heat from the sun to raise their core temperature so they can go about their business. And also for things like digesting the tourist they had last night :-D
