I visited the 70th temple of the 88 sacred sites in Kagawa Prefecture. [Temple in Kagawa, Japan]

I visited the 70th temple of the 88 Sacred Sites [Honzanji Temple] located in Motozanko, Toyonaka-cho, Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture.

There are only four five-storied pagodas: Chikurin-ji, Shido-ji, Zentsu-ji, and Honzan-ji. It was rebuilt in 1903.

The principal image is Bato Kanzeon Bodhisattva, the only one of its kind in Shikoku sacred sites. Kannon with a horse's head on his head.
There is also a horse statue near the main hall where it is enshrined.
