“I’ve been starstruck just once in my life, and that was on the sets of Raees. When Shah Rukh Sir walked into the room, his captivating aura just left me in awe… It felt like time had frozen! When it was time to start shooting, I became the spectator, watching THE King Khan weave his magic… It was surreal!”
As a child, Jaideep once dreamt of joining the Armed Forces! But when he dabbled in theatre in college, he realized that acting was what he was meant to do… and being in front of the camera was where he was meant to be! And the struggles to get there, he says, are a part and parcel of life!
Studying at FTII with the likes of Rajkummar Rao and then starting his career with small roles in Aakrosh and Khattha Meetha, Jaideep Ahlawat’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Portraying a wide range of characters over the decade, Jaideep’s versatility shines through, breathing life into every role he takes up—be it as Shahid Khan in the critically acclaimed Gangs of Wasseypur, RAW Agent Khalid Mir in Raazi, Nawab in Raees, or Inspector Hathiram in Paatal Lok.
From dreaming of having his own vanity van, to working with Shah Rukh Khan and being asked about his acting process by Aamir Khan, Jaideep’s career has come a beautiful full circle. And all along, he has captivated audiences and peers with his dedication to his craft and his commitment to delivering stellar performances.
