Course: The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam by Allama Iqbal
Topic: Preface : Faith between Idea and Experience (Faith as a State - Experience as Phenomena).
The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam is a compilation of seven lectures delivered by Allama Muhammad Iqbal on Islamic philosophy which were published in 1930. These lectures were delivered by Iqbal in Madras, Hyderabad, and Aligarh.
International Iqbal Society in collaboration with The Lahore Arts Council arranged a special course on The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam, the magnum opus of Iqbal. This course comprises of ten weekly sessions which will be conducted by two authorities on this subject, Dr. Tahir Hameed Tanoli, and Mr. Sarosh Alamgir.
This is part 2 of the talk delivered on the immensely important Preface of the Text, by Sarosh Alamgir, with special focus on how Iqbal's concept of Faith contrasts with the conception of 'Idea'; the discussion builds upon the preceding discussion on how Quran emphasizes on 'Deed' rather than 'Idea'.
