Dutch Admiral Rob Bauer is
Dutch Admiral Rob Bauer is the chairman of the NATO Military Committee. The NATO Military Committee is NATO's highest military authority. He supports the decision-making processes of the civilian leadership - the North Atlantic Council and the Nuclear Planning Group - on military matters. The Military Committee is responsible for providing military advice to NATO's political leadership. It is made up of officers from NATO member states who serve as military representatives of their nations at NATO and thus represent the chiefs of general staff of their member states. The Chairman of the Military Committee heads the committee. It is therefore NATO's highest military authority. The chairman also represents the committee externally. He is also NATO's highest military spokesman. He is elected by the chiefs of general staff of the NATO member states and is appointed for a term of office, usually three years. Admiral Bauer has been Chairman of NATO's Military Committee since June 2021. He was previously the Dutch Chief of General Staff since 2017.
The video shows the military honors on the occasion of Admiral Bauer's visit to Inspector General Carsten Breuer in the Bendlerblock (Ministry of Defense, BMVg) in Berlin. The spectator sees the setting up of the post of honor, the entry of the honor formation (honor company in army uniform), the greeting of the inspector general by the guard battalion, the arrival of the guest, the anthems of NATO and the Federal Republic of Germany, the marching off of the honor formation, the march out of the honor formation, the laying of a wreath at the Bundeswehr Memorial and the joint commemorative photo. The honor formation is provided by the 5th company of the guard battalion. The Neubrandenburg Army Music Corps is playing under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Christian Prchal.
Following the visit to the Bendler Block, Admiral Bauer and General Breuer will visit Bundeswehr offices in northern Germany. Among other things, Admiral Bauer will give a lecture at the Bundeswehr Command Academy in Hamburg.
