The incredible sight of a pair of LMS Black 5s along the scenic and remote Heart of Wales line, hauling Day 8 of Railway Touring Company's "Great Britain XVI". 44871 was piloting, with 45407 "The Lancashire Fusilier" behind. The pair are first seen at Broome station, where there was a large crowd further along the platform - I wasn't expecting this station to be anywhere near this busy. I then tried to race them to Llanbister Road, but I didn't quite make it in time, so I then headed to Llandrindod to see them during their water stop. Unsurprisingly, the crowds here were absolutely massive, so after getting a few shots, I then headed off to somewhere more quiet and peaceful - Garth. This was a beautiful station and much less busy than the previous two. Finally, for the highlight of the day, I head to the famous Sugar Loaf halt, one of the smallest and most remote stations in Wales. Here, the 5s make a fantastic noise as they slog uphill out of Llanwrtyd, making for easily the best clip of the day and probably the best clip I've got all year.
