Trains at Wigan North Western & Warrington Bank Quay 11/4/2024 (ft. 45407 "The Lancashire Fusilier)

A morning at Wigan North Western and Warrington Bank Quay to see two special ECS moves. First up is Wigan, where I see DRS 68005 passing at speed and with some nice thrash hauling the 4M27 Coatbridge to Daventry. Later, the Midland Pullman set passes through with the ECS for the following day's Torbay & Dartmouth Pullman, hauled by LSL power cars 43055 and 43047 and passing with a nice doppler tone. Later, I head to Warrington Bank Quay to see the most interesting move of the day - WCRC 47812 hauling LMS Black 5 45407 "The Lancashire Fusilier" to Southall in preparation for the Great Britain XVI, a nine-day steam-hauled tour of the country's most scenic and historic lines. This movement stopped in the Up Goods line for about half an hour, allowing a good close-up look of this brilliant locomotive. Whilst this was stopped here, GBRf 60096 "Impetus" passed through the station hauling the usual Drax biomass traffic.
