Who says a Philly Cheese
Who says a Philly Cheese Steak has to be made with thin strips of rib eye? As delicious as that is equally fabulous is making this classic sandwich with ground beef. In this video I’ll show you how to make this sandwich with ground beef paired with sautéed onions, peppers, and cheese…..one with provolone and one with Cheez Whiz. Gonna cook it up on the flat top and serve it up in a soft hoagie steak bun.
Shopping list:
1 Lb. ground chuck 80/20
1 green bell pepper
1 red bell pepper
1 sweet onion
Provolone slices
Cheez Whiz
Butter
Cooking oil
Kosher salt
Fresh ground black pepper
Hoagie Steak buns
Instructions:
Slice thinly the peppers and onions
Saute the peppers and onions over medium low heat until softened
Brown the ground chuck seasoning with only Kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper
When browned, mix in with the veggies
Separate the mixture into portion sizes on the griddle or skillet then top with several slice of Provolone until the cheese fully melts, except for the portions you want to top with Cheez Whiz, which you can warm in the microwave.
Fill your buns with the meat, veggie and cheese mixture.
Pour your warmed Cheez Whiz on top of the portions you didn’t add Provolone to.
Serve up and enjoy!!!
