About the song:
The chorus turned out WAY better than I expected. Before doing it, I wanted to have some strings do the choir voices, but when I got there I had used too many guitars and had no more room, so I used square waves. And then I noticed I'd forgotten the bass entirely! But I thought the deep guitar covered the low range pretty well, so I left the guitar for the first section (1:10) and had it replaced for the bass in the next one (1:38), and oh boy did that work, I was awestruck. Then I edited more instruments to fit the tone of each section.

Since no instruments sounded similar to trap (and I didn't know what I was looking for), I had to try different things and see what sticks. I used high-pitched quiet bells at one point, 'cus I thought it sounded like hip-hop and that would fit somewhat, but then later I started changing other instruments and while adjusting those I kept wondering what the bell-hit thing was that was ruining them, so I had to change the bells. The kick drum couldn't be sampled for the intro because they would share space with the claps, so I used FM drums that were later used as toms.

The instrument at 1:13--1:16 and 1:20--1:23 took me 2 extra days to make.

About the picture:
The sky is the sea gradient from Ecco the Dolphin recolored into a sunset gradient. The clouds are from Bubsy colored yellow. Everything else I drew myself!
But how did I draw Infinite? Well, I thought of "tracing" a reference image, although not in a way I've done before. I had both the image and MS Paint opened at the same time, and I alligned the pixels of the drawing in a way that when minimizing image, the drawing behind would look the same.
Then came the cubes... so simple in 3D, so hard in 2D. I drew 9 different sprites, all of different sizes and apparent depth, only to realize they look small rather than far.
I didn't keep track of time, but I imagine it took about 4 or 5 days to do with all the retouching I did, the lower part of Infinite's mask was hard to make.
