Asics Metaspeed Sky Review: How Does It Compare to the Nike Vaporfly?

The Asics Metaspeed Sky is one of the most exciting race shoes to appear in 2021. Alongside the Metaspeed Edge, the carbon plate shoe is designed to not only help runners hit PBs, but also help to promote an increased stride length.

With a listed stack of 33mm at the heel, it's lower than World Athletics 40mm limit, and the 5mm drop from heel to toe is less than most carbon plate shoes.

The midsole is made from Asics's new nylon-based FF Blast Turbo, a material similar to the FF Blast foam used in the Asics Novablast but offering a softer, bouncier experience.

Tom, Nick and Mike have been testing out the shoe to see how it compares to the carbon plate racers available.
