#Uttarakhand on fire is a documentary based on forest fire on Himalayan region.
Although every year forest fire occurs but in the past few year the fire cases has been on rise, which making Himalaya more prone to global warming , pollution and existence of Himalaya is on verge.
In the India subcontinent the month of may and June is very hot and temperature rises up to 50 degree Celsius in the northern plains of Himalaya. Making it more prone to forest fire.
The lowest range of Himalaya known as a Shivalik Range is more prone to forest fire. Due to its height and abundance of Pine tree forest it is most vulnerable to the forest fire.
There are many reasons of forest fire few are natural factors and few are man made, which has been covered in this documentary.
Uttarakhand state is also very prone to forest fire as more than 50 % trees are of pine species.
In the year 2016 huge forest fire spread on the Garhwal and Kumaon Division of Uttarakhand causing approx 3500 hectare forest gutted into the fire and thousand of animal and birds died or migrated , including the human casualty.
Till so far Uttarakhand has lost approx 12000 hectare forest in a forest fire.
It a responsibility of all citizen and government as well to protect forest from fire incident.
