Great Laxey Mine

The Great Laxey Mine Railway is a 19 inch gauge railway that used to haul ore from the mine to the processing plant and Laxey on the Isle of Man. They have recreated 2 of the original type of steam locomotives and give rides in an enclosed mine car a short distance through a tunnel toward the workings.
Also shown is the Great Laxey Water Wheel which is a huge 72ft 6 inches in diameter. This wheel was used to pump water out of the mine.
