Scarborough is an old British
Scarborough is an old British railway station and has the honour of having The World's Longest Railway bench! It can be found at Scarborough Railway Station and measures 139 metres! The Victorian bench has been refurbished fairly recently.
Each of the 2500+ railway stations has something that makes them a little different, unique even. And at Scarborough train station it's the long bench at the end of platform 1.
Platform 1 was a necessary addition to Scarborough station in 1883 due to the number of passengers using the station and this was probably the time when the bench was installed.
