Villa Romana del Casale is
Villa Romana del Casale is a Roman villa that can be found in Italy. Built in the 4th century AD, this is an extensive, rich villa filled with 3500m^2 of mosaics, and is stunning! That's why I decided to remake it, but I don't even think my map does it justice! If you want to learn more about it, check out the link here:

After my last video, someone asked about sizing and layouts of buildings and how I face it. This map is my biggest project so far, and as you can tell, I have used a floorplan to draw out my map to stick to the true layout - but do not be afraid to do so if you don't feel as confident. This map is to scale (hence why it is huge), but feel free to make it to any size you feel comfortable.
Some pieces were missing from the map, that despite being labelled, I wasn't sure what a few rooms were - so I made it up with whatever fit around it. For example, there were several "antechambers" and hallways in the southern apartment, that I instead turned into a wider variety of rooms to make it feel lived in.
With interior maps, say a mansion, I think about what room I want to enter into. So in this case, a great hallway. Great! What should extend from the hallway? Maybe a meeting room, dining hall and a corridor leading to some bedrooms. Then I move onto other rooms and wondering what I should find there. I've found this to be extremely useful in building large scale buildings with plenty of room.
If you're worried about scale when it comes to maps, I compare everything to myself or that thereof. The standard square is around 5ft across, a bit smaller or taller than you perhaps, but is a good basis to go off of. A bed might be 1.5 squares long and 1 wide if it is a single, or 1.5x1.5 if it is a double, for example. From there, I would compare to the size of the bed, and determine whether it'd need to be smaller or larger than that bed. And don't worry if it is not perfect! Over time you learn rough estimates that are extremely beneficial!
