How to Bind an E-flite UMX Receiver

In this video I will go over some of the basic procedures for binding a Spektrum DX6 transmitter to the UMX receiver.  As an example, I will use the Horizon Hobby E-flite Pitts RTF RC model airplane.

Early RC transmitters operated on a single frequency and did not have computers to store various model aircraft parameters.

This all changed in 2004 when Spektrum came out with the first 2.4 GHz radio system that, for the first time ever, required the user to electronically "bind" the transmitter with a selected receiver.  With this wonderful technique, any number of RC model aircraft can operate at the same time without fear of interference.

The key point with binding a UMX receiver with the DX6 transmitter is to ensure the transmitter is turned on first, before connecting power to the UMX receiver.  If the UMX receiver has power without a recognized (or binded) transmitter signal, the receiver will automatically go into the bind mode after 3-5 seconds.

In addition I show a short demonstration of AS3X (Automatic Stabilization 3 Axis) on the Pitts.
