Serial Dilution - Methods and Calculations

Serial Dilution is a series of sequential dilution of a substance in solution. To dilute a stock solution, Mix the stock solution with diluent. The ratio of the Final volume to the aliqout volume of the stock is known as Dilution Factor (DF).

Serial Dilution can be used for preparing standards as well as for plating bacterial cultures for colony counting and other applications.
