Tony Kidd, of KIDD Innovative Design uses a partially cut away trigger unit to demonstrate  how to adjust the KIDD Two Stage Trigger for LOP- length of pull, trigger cant and switching the hammer spring.  This trigger unit is an aftermarket unit and is intended to drop-in and replace a 10/22® trigger unit.  To purchase or for more information on other adjustments available on this patented trigger follow this link:

On this patented trigger design the overall length of pull, meaning the distance between the curve of the trigger blade and the end of the butt stock can be adjusted within a 1/2" range. The trigger blade is normally set a 1/4" out, so if the shooter needs just a little more or less length, the blade on the trigger unit can be moved forward or rearward.  To do this the mainspring retainer must be removed in order to gain access to the set screw needed to make this adjustment.  Along with the removal of the mainspring retainer the hammer spring and strut also come out as a package.  A 1/16th hex driver will be needed to loosen the set screw holding in the trigger blade.  Loosen the set screw, adjust the blade forward of rearward within the 1/2" range and tighten the set screw locking in the blade once again.  Care must be taken to not move the blade too far to the rear as this would cause the trigger to not function.  The simple fix would be to move the blade slightly forward if this were to occur.
The cant of the trigger blade can also be adjusted in nearly the same way as described above.  The mainspring retainer, hammer spring and strut need to be removed.  A 1/16 hex driver needs to be used to loosen the set screw of the trigger blade, but instead of moving the blade forward or rearward swing the blade left or right.  The blade starts out centered in the mid line of the trigger unit, but if tilted or canted slightly left or right the shooter maybe able to adjust for a unusually short finger or some other preference of the shooter.
This tutorial video also shows the hammer spring being switched from standard strength to magnum.  Once the mainspring retainer is removed along with the hammer spring and strut, simply insert the magnum spring over the strut, place both in the mainspring retainer and reinsert in the notch of the trigger guard.  The magnum spring would be recommended if the KIDD Two Stage Trigger was being utilized in a magnum 10/22® or a 17HMR.  For more information visit our home page at:
