Hey guys, what’s happening? Niyat here with film comics explained.
As requested, today we’ll be diving into 65, the recently released sci-fi thriller written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan woods, and produced by the legendary Sam Raimi.

Coming off the back of their incredible scripts for A quiet place 1 and 2, Beck and Woods utilise the same structure in their directorial debut. At its core, we follow characters dealing with loss while trying to endure a hostile environment unlike anything they had ever encountered. It’s the kind of sci-fi monster genre mash that always puts a smile on my face.

Starring Adam Driver, Ariana Greenblatt, Chloe Coleman and Nika King, the film opens 65 million years ago in the infinity of space. A time where other civilisations are said to have explored the heavens and seemingly conquered them.

On the planet Somaris, an earth-like world somewhere in the Milky Way galaxy, we’re introduced to our protagonist Mills, a pilot, and his wife Alya, who are struggling to deal with their daughter’s illness. With amazing technologies and the ability to travel across star systems, they are basically advanced humans before mankind ever existed.

Unfortunately, their daughter Nevine has a few years to live unless her parents can find a way to make enough money to treat her illness. Pushed to the point of desperation, Mills convinces Alya that he should take a two-year exploratory voyage contract offered to him by his employer.
