Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Stealth Hitch hitch receiver with the tow kit on a 2018 Audi Q5.  Now, this is what your hitch looks like installed on your Audi, and you're probably saying, "Well, where is it" And the great part about the Stealth Hitch is it lives up to the name Stealth because when you're not using it, you don't have to have your receiver or your ball mount in place, and that's gonna make it nice and easy, whenever you're ready to go, to take that portion, slide it up, and have it ready to go.  Now, the tow kit comes with this two-inch receiver tube opening, which is gonna be really nice for your cargo carriers or bike racks.  And all of your components are gonna stay in place with a 5/8 pin and clip.  Now, the hitch does not come with one.  A lot of times, your accessories will come with one, but if you wanna pick up a locking version for that, we have those available as well.

Now, as far as weight capacities go on our rack receiver, this is gonna be 600 pounds for your tongue weight, so that's gonna be decent for a four-bike bike rack loaded up, you shouldn't have any problems, or even a cargo carrier.  Now, I will point out that the two-inch receiver tube opening will say, "Not for towing." And being that you got the tow package, this is gonna be a great option because it comes with a two-inch ball and a ball mount here.  So that way, when you are ready to tow a trailer, you can just slide this up, get that locked in place.  And you also have safety chain loops down here, which will allow you to get your trailer safely hooked up.  It is a little bit tricky, but it is going to work.

With even a larger clevis style hook, you should be able to get this in place.  You may have to kind of finagle it a little bit as it is kind of tucked back there, but that's kind of part of the Stealth Hitch that makes it nice as it is hidden.  Now, the tow package also comes with that 7-pole wiring, so that way you can hook up to your trailer, and they also include an adapter that has the 4-pole.  Now, as far as towing a trailer, this has a weight capacity of 6,000 pounds for your gross trailer weight rating, so that's gonna be the weight of the trailer plus the accessories loaded onto it, which is pretty good.  You have a tongue weight rating that is the same as the two-inch rack receiver, which is gonna be 600 pounds, so just adhere to that with your trailer.

Now, when you have neither your rack receiver or ball mount in place, you do have a rubber cap that you can put in place to keep any water from building up in inside of there, which is really nice.  Now, it does come with two keys, and that has a tumbler on the side that also has a rubber cap to keep that nice and clean for you.  And what's great is once you have these locked and popped in place, you can take that tumbler, lock it, and these aren't gonna be coming off the vehicle without this key, so it's a little bit of a theft deterrent, which is really nice.  Now, this does stick out pretty far when it's in place, but that's fine because if you're using this, that probably means you have accessories loaded in place.  So as far as aesthetics-wise, it's actually not a bad thing because you can stow any folding accessories.

They're not gonna make contact with your fascia, which is really nice.  And as far as ground clearance goes, so from the top, the receiver tube opening to the ground, you're looking at about 14-1/2 inches, so that's pretty good.  I don't really worry too much that any of your accessories will make contact on flat driving, but as you go up in incline, they're gonna wanna tilt towards the ground, so just kind of keep that in mind.  Now, we'll take a look at the ball mount as well.  That way, you can determine if this is okay to tow your trailer.  So we'll take a measurement here.  And from the top of our mount here, we are coming in at about 16-1/2 inches, so it does raise up slightly, which is pretty nice.  So you're gonna wanna measure your trailer to make sure that it's going to attach to this properly.  Now, as far as the installation goes, this is a fairly tricky one because you have to pull off the rear fascia.  The hitch is going to mount up against or behind the bumper beam, so that does require taking off a lot of your, well, all of your rear fascia.  And the problem with that is this car does not allow you to unplug the fascia, so you really are kinda left having it hanging off to the side while doing it.  But once you have it off, it's not too bad.  There are a few different spots in the inte
