Hood Underside Restored to Better Than New

Since I am in the process of installing a new aluminum radiator, this is the perfect time to clean and detail the underside of my 1976 C3 Corvette Stingray hood since it's off the car.

Before removing the hood, I set up a table with moving blankets to protect the painted side and also to have a good working surface.

The first order of business was to inspect the hood to determine what needed to be done, then I removed the louver grill or vent, the hood liner, and the latches.

I also gave the hood support a good cleaning and polish.

This "little" project will become a several-part video series since I think it's important to cover all the steps involved in restoring the underside of the hood and all its associated components in some detail.

I have to admit that this may not be the most "entertaining" video to watch, but for those of you who like to pay attention to detail, it gives you a close-up look at the steps I am taking to detail the underside portion of mine. And, at the end of the day, those little details make all the difference in the world.

I may not have the fastest or most collectible C3 Corvette in the world, but I'm doing my best to make it the cleanest. lol. And it's a driver. Not a show car.
