Removing a security ink tag using a magnet

Bought this online but when it was delivered the security ink tag was still on. Since we are in lock down due to the pandemic  we couldn’t take to have the tag removed at the store. All retail stores were closed and we had no idea when we will come out of lockdown.

I found different ways to remove the tag in YouTube but I did not find anything that I would be willing to do. Some videos were drilling out the pin or using an angle grinder, there were also some that was melting the plastic casing, all these were to risky for me.

There was a video where they were using magnets but you have to buy the magnet online. Fortunately I had magnets that came from an old hard drive, these magnets are really very strong and was perfect for the job.

Every time I upgrade or throw away used hard drive I always open it up to collect the magnets and also to ensure that the disks inside are useless.
