HOW TO MAKE A PULLING EYE LOOP WITH ROPE

In today’s video I will be showing you how to create an eye loop with a rope this process is used when pulling large wires you can do this with little wire as well such as 2/0 or what have you however this is primarily used when pulling larger wires such as 500 600 750 things of that nature and normally when you have a new rope the eyelid is done by someone who’s done it before by the end of this video that someone is going to be you.
So to start off when you’re making your eye loop what you’re gonna wanna do is get a forearms length of string that you can pull apart you’re gonna market but it would tape and then start unraveling the rope at the end of the three unravels you’re gonna want to put another piece of tape on each individual rope
Second you’re gonna want to decide how big you want your eyelid to be so typically what I like to do is a 7 to 10 inch long in between because I feel like when it’s in a 3 inch pipe or a 4 inch pipe this seems to work the best
Then you’ll have to watch the video and see exactly how to do the raveling the first part is the most important so if you have to rewatch that particular part a few times before attempting
But basically it is a over under weave that goes in and out but there is a process where the middle goes in the middle the left side goes on top and the right side goes on bottom but make sure you never weave Your rope inside the loose you always want to leave it inside the master
