Electrician Knots - The Stopper Knot (Mares Tale Knot) Wire Pulling Knot.

In this short video I show you how to tie the Stopper Knot also known as the Mares Tale knot for wire pulling. Now let me be clear that this knot is not meant to replace a wire pulling head, it is not meant to be pulled through the inside of the conduit. This knot is simply used if you need to pull more wire out of the conduit your are pulling from and the tugger has already pulled the head of the wire as far as it can go. Well in that case you can take the rope off the head of the wire that was made up and you can use this knot to pull extra wire out of the conduit. Ok so now that i was clear about that lets get back to the knot. This knot can also be used if you have put lubricant on the wires. It's a good knot to use if you ever need to pull wire out of the conduit for whatever reason.
