Icarus Paradox is a phenomenon that describes that sometimes, new and promising organizations end up failing due to various reasons as time passes.

Icarus Paradox is named that way because of the mythological figure Icarus, who flew too close to the sun with wings made from wax and fell down to his death. The main idea from flight of Icarus is that one must keep their ambitions under check and fly according to their ability.

Icarus Paradox is not the same as Icarus Effect.

There can be a lot of reasons why companies face Icarus Paradox.

A sudden growth can cause the companies to be smug about this initial success.There are a few cognitive biases that also have a hand on it.
