In this AP Daily: Live Review session for AP Statistics, we will discuss strategies for success on AP Statistics Exam questions involving probability and random variables.
We will focus on simplifying challenging content, including: how bias and variability relate to data collection methods; the central limit theorem (what it says and when it applies); working with linear combinations of random variables; conditional probability and independence; and calculating binomial probabilities. We will also review critical skills and strategies for exam success, including: deciding what approach to take on a probability question (intuitive arithmetic, formula, calculator function, visual representation); using the formula sheet and your calculator effectively when performing probability and random variable calculations; and showing appropriate work on free-response questions requiring probability or random variable calculations.
