Italianità || The Story of Aprile Millo

"Italianita" is a mini-documentary featurette chronicling the career of famed Italian-American soprano Aprile Millo whose, "authentic Italian sound" took her to the top of the world of opera, where she would be bestowed the honor of playing the coveted African princess, Aida. Millo is honest in expressing the internal conflict of being a non-black woman portraying a woman of color while understanding that remaining true to her culture afforded the opportunity. "Italianita" is a sensitive and honest depiction of one of opera's greatest and most highly regarded voices.
