My Permaculture Guilds (Zone 9a)

When I first decided to grow my own food, I was intimidated by the amount of labor I imagined would be involved. Everyone told me, “fruit trees are a lot of work.” “Growing a garden is hard, makes more sense to buy food at the market.” I imagined myself laboring in the hot sun for hours for a few beans and peppers.

But if that's what it took, I was willing to do the work.  I was determined to fulfill my dream.

I’m so glad I discovered permaculture. Instead of toiling in the hot sun, I'll soon be harvesting abundance in the shade of a food forest.

In this video I describe how I used guilds to reduce the amount of labor and inputs required to keep my annual crops and perennial crops happy, healthy, and productive.

By understanding and leveraging nature’s blueprint, growing food can be relaxing and fun.
