When the Westboro Baptist Church
When the Westboro Baptist Church protests Matthew Shepard’s death because he was gay (murdered by two individuals who were homophobic and tricked him), as the Church members shouted slurs like "God Hates Fags", the response from the LGBTQ community was to dress as Angels with large wings, stand side by side, wing to wing, and block the protesters from view so the family of Matthew Shepard could enter the courthouse without seeing their hate as the trial began for their son's murder.
The LGBTQ community did the job that the Christian Bible commands, of loving thy neighbour and showing peace and love to those who are suffering, while standing up for people’s well being while peacefully silencing the hate-filled church.
The church did exactly what their bible says not to do as they deceive themselves into thinking they are acting in a way that any higher power would want - they were divisive, hateful, acted with pure judgement and no compassion for the plight of those who are suffering, believing that “being right” in their mind is an end that justifies any and every means.
