What is happening between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh?

Azerbaijan says it has halted military action in its breakaway region of Nagorno-Karabakh. This comes after its battlefield success forced Armenian separatist forces to agree to a ceasefire that will see the area fully return to Baku's control. Armenia and Azerbaijan have fought two wars over the region in three decades. Professor Carey Cavanaugh, a former US ambassador and mediator for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, explains to CNA’s World Tonight what this means for ethnic Armenians living in the region, and why Russia and Turkiye are involved in the conflict.
