The Gatimaan Express is India's first semi high speed train ( Also termed as Semi Bullet Train by the Indian Railways) that runs between Delhi and Agra in India. Gatimaan in Sanskrit means "On the move or in motion '. It operates at a peak speed of 160 KPH ( 99 MPH ) and is presently the fastest Indian Railway train. The train takes 100 minutes to cover the 188 kilometer stretch from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Agra Cantonment non stop. Gatimaan runs 6 days a week except Fridays. The train leaves Hazrat Nizamuddin at 8:10 am and reaches Agra at 9:50 am. Departure from Agra is at 5:50 pm reaching Nizammudin at 7:30 pm. The train has two Executive AC Chair Car and eight AC Chair Car coaches. The train is equipped with bio-toilets, fire alarms, GPS-based passenger information system . The train has train hostesses for service, similar to airlines and the passengers get access to free Wi-Fi and multimedia content. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are available in North Indian and South Indian variations on board and is inclusive of the Ticket fare. Gatimaan Express is regularly hauled by a WAP5 electric locomotive from Ghaziabad Loco shed. It has 2 Dedicated WAP5 Locomotives 30007 and 30020. The locomotive is equipped with TPWS (Train Protection and Warning System). Executive Class ticket costs ₹1,500 (US$22). Travel by AC Chair Car, costs ₹750 (US$11). The Bhopal Shatabdi Express is now the second fastest train in India after Gatimaan came into service and runs at a peak speed of 150 KPH on the New Delhi-Agra stretch with a mere difference of 10 KPH to Gatimaan. It covers 194 KM New Delhi-Agra stretch in about 117 minutes with one stop at Mathura.The Bhopal Shatabdi too is hauled by a WAP5 locomotive.
