Onehunga is a residential and light-industrial suburb in South-Central Auckland, New Zealand. This walk explores the streets of Onehunga, a local park and war memorial site.
Onehunga stretches south from Royal Oak to the northern shore of the Manukau Harbour. To the east are the areas of Oranga and Te Papapa; to the west, Hillsborough. On the southern shore of the Manukau Harbour, and linked to Onehunga by two bridges, is the suburb of Māngere Bridge.
Jellicoe Park Victorian style park is over 100 years old and known as the oldest in Onehunga. The park has formal flower beds and century old trees, a fountain, memorial arches and historic buildings. The open spaces are perfect for recreational activities and picnics. The park is also home to the Onehunga War Memorial Pool and Leisure Centre.
This walk begins on Trafalgar Street near Selwyn Street, up to the Manukau Road intersection and towards (eventually into) Jellicoe Park.

Onehunga is accessible by train, bus or car.
The total distance is about 750m and was recorded on a winter afternoon in 2021 with a temperature of 11°C. The Covid alert level was at Level 1 - so fairly normal traffic/activity levels.
