Welcome to Auckland's Onehunga on
Welcome to Auckland's Onehunga on a windy spring day in 2021. Filmed along Onehunga Mall during Level 3 Lockdown, we pass many of Onehunga's shops, cafe's and restaurants.
Onehunga is a residential and light-industrial suburb in South-Central Auckland, New Zealand. This walk explores the main shopping street of Onehunga, including Dress Smart mall from afar (closed due to the lockdown).
Onehunga stretches south from Royal Oak to the northern shore of the Manukau Harbour. To the east are the areas of Oranga and Te Papapa; to the west, Hillsborough. On the southern shore of the Manukau Harbour, and linked to Onehunga by two bridges, is the suburb of Māngere Bridge.
This walk begins on Onehunga Mall near Tin Tack's reserve down towards Onehunga Train Station.

Onehunga is accessible by train, bus or car.
The total distance is about 1km and was recorded on a spring afternoon in 2021 with a temperature of 17°C. The Covid alert level was at Level 3 - so somewhat reduced traffic/activity levels, contactless only services, mandated mask wearing etc.
