Isadore Hall marched against thousands
Isadore Hall marched against thousands of Latino farmworkers to force them into a union contract that would strip them of the right to protest union labor abuses. The United Farm Workers union had abandoned the workers 20 years ago. A state board later tried to force them to join the union. Hall, a politician from Compton, wanted to force the workers into the contract – so he could get the UFW’s backing for his failed congressional bid. When a career politician wants to protest, it’s OK. But not when you’re an immigrant farmworker.
