Al Roker, a familiar face in weather forecasting, introduced the Flash Flood attraction on the Universal Studios Backlot as part of the Universal Studios Hollywood Studio Tour. The Studio Tour, or The Backlot Tour, is a central attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood in Universal City, California, near Los Angeles. It offers an immersive experience in a live film studio, showcasing various sets on the Universal Studios Lot. Nowadays, guests travel in multi-car trams, enjoying a guided tour lasting about 45-60 minutes. This journey covers the Front Lot, Backlot, and several attractions, featuring sets and props from numerous films. The history of the tour is deeply entwined with Universal Pictures. Starting from 1915, when visitors could watch for 25 cents from bleachers, to the introduction of Glamor Trams in 1964, and evolving into today's technologically advanced tours, it has always been a major draw of the theme park. Originally, all Universal attractions were accessible only via the tram in its early years (1964–1965). The tour initially began at the front lot commissary, with the upper lot studio tour center opening in 1965. Over the years, the tour has adapted alongside the evolving movie studio. By late 1989, CD players were introduced, giving tour guides a vocal respite. These were later replaced 2000 by DVD players and LCD screens, allowing guides to showcase scenes from movies filmed at the tram's passing locations. In 2011, Jimmy Fallon enhanced the experience as a video host, contributing live-action narration and an original song thanking guests at the tour's conclusion. This song was removed in 2016 and transformed into a billboard feature. From 2006, the tour occasionally skipped the Collapsing Bridge due to its aging structure. However, after renovations, it was reinstated in August 2008. Since July 2010, the Collapsing Bridge has been incorporated into the King Kong: 360 3-D attraction, representing the Skull Island area. ©2007 Universal Studios. All rights reserved.
